Warranty Policy

Warranty Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Important: This warranty policy applies to products purchased from Electric Scooters London / ECOMOVE UK Ltd. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

This policy explains how warranty claims, diagnostics, repairs, replacement parts and warranty-related shipping are handled for electric bikes, electric scooters, batteries, chargers and related products purchased from us.

📦 Standard Warranty Coverage

All electric scooters and electric bikes purchased from Electric Scooters London are supplied with a limited warranty against manufacturing defects.

Our standard warranty period is 6 months from the date the customer receives the product, unless a different warranty period is clearly stated on the individual product page or confirmed by the manufacturer.

Warranty length and coverage may vary depending on the brand, model, component and manufacturer terms. Where a product page states a different warranty period, the warranty information on that page usually applies to that specific product.

  • Standard warranty: 6 months for major electrical and mechanical components, unless otherwise stated on the product page.
  • Selected products: some brands or models may include extended warranty coverage, such as up to 12 months on the frame or selected components.
  • Manufacturer warranty: some products are covered directly by the manufacturer's warranty terms, which may differ by brand.

The warranty period starts from the date the customer receives the product.

✅ Conditions of Warranty

To make a warranty claim, the following conditions normally apply:

  • You must be the original purchaser.
  • You must provide proof of purchase, such as an order number or receipt.
  • The warranty is non-transferable.
  • The issue must relate to a manufacturing defect, not misuse, accidental damage or normal wear and tear.
  • The defect must be reported as soon as reasonably possible after it is noticed.
  • Clear photo or video evidence may be required before parts, repair or collection can be approved.
  • The product must not have been modified, tampered with, speed-unlocked, tuned or repaired by an unauthorised person in a way that caused or contributed to the fault.
  • The product must have been used, charged, stored and maintained in line with the manufacturer's guidance.

🔧 Components Usually Covered

Depending on the product, brand and warranty period, the limited warranty may cover confirmed manufacturing defects in major components such as:

  • Battery
  • Motor
  • Controller
  • Display
  • Throttle, where fitted
  • Pedal assist sensor or speed sensor
  • Lights
  • Main electrical wiring
  • Frame, where covered by the relevant brand or manufacturer warranty

Coverage can vary by model and manufacturer. If you are unsure whether a specific component is covered, please get in touch with us before making a claim.

⚙️ Warranty Claim Process

If you believe your product has developed a fault, please get in touch with us at support@electricscooterslondon.com.

Please include:

  • Your order number
  • Your full name and contact details
  • A clear description of the fault
  • Photos of the product and the affected component
  • A short video clearly showing the issue, where possible
  • Any error codes shown on the display
  • Photos of the serial number, frame number or motor number, if requested

Once the issue is reported, our technical team will review the case. Depending on the problem, we may provide troubleshooting steps, request further evidence, send a replacement part, arrange repair, or arrange return/collection where appropriate.

If the faulty component can be replaced safely and easily by the customer, we may send the replacement part free of charge if the warranty claim is approved.

If professional inspection or repair is required, the product may need to be brought or returned to us for assessment and repair.

🛠️ Repair or Replacement

For approved warranty claims, we will usually offer one of the following solutions:

  • Technical support and troubleshooting
  • Replacement part supplied for self-fitting, where suitable
  • Workshop repair
  • Manufacturer repair or manufacturer-approved solution
  • Replacement of the faulty component, where repair is not practical

Warranty does not automatically entitle the customer to a full product replacement or refund. The appropriate remedy depends on the nature of the fault, the age of the product, the manufacturer's guidance and your statutory rights.

🚫 What the Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not normally cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Consumable parts such as tyres, inner tubes, brake pads, brake discs, brake cables, chains, grips, pedals, bearings, fuses and similar wear items
  • Punctures or tyre damage caused by road debris, impact, wear or incorrect tyre pressure.
  • Accidental damage, crash damage or impact damage
  • Misuse, abuse, overloading or use outside the manufacturer's guidance
  • Commercial, rental, courier, delivery or hire use, unless the product is specifically sold for that purpose
  • Water damage, water ingress, rust or corrosion
  • Damage caused by riding in heavy rain, deep water, flooding, snow or unsuitable conditions
  • Damage caused by pressure washing or cleaning with excessive water
  • Improper storage, including outdoor storage or exposure to damp conditions
  • Incorrect assembly, poor maintenance or failure to tighten/check parts before riding
  • Damage, failure or injury risk caused by lack of regular inspection, servicing or maintenance
  • Unauthorised repairs, modifications, tuning, speed unlocking or tampering
  • Installation of incompatible parts, chargers, batteries or accessories
  • Damage caused by using the wrong charger
  • Battery degradation caused by age, storage, charging habits or normal use
  • Reduced range caused by normal battery ageing, rider weight, Terrain, hills, wind, tyre pressure, temperature or riding mode
  • Cosmetic marks, scratches, scuffs or signs of use after the product has been used

Water damage warning: Most electric bikes and electric scooters are water-resistant, not waterproof. Water ingress can permanently damage batteries, controllers, displays, motors, wiring and sensors. Water damage is normally not covered under warranty.

🔋 Battery and Charger Warranty

Batteries and chargers are covered only against confirmed manufacturing defects during the applicable warranty period.

Battery performance naturally reduces over time and with use. Reduced range alone does not always mean the battery is faulty. Range can be affected by rider weight, Terrain, tyre pressure, temperature, riding mode, hills, wind, battery age and charging habits.

Battery or charger warranty may be refused where the issue is caused by:

  • Use of an incorrect, incompatible or non-approved charger
  • Overcharging, deep discharge or poor storage
  • Water damage or corrosion
  • Physical damage, impact or dropping
  • Opening, modifying or repairing the battery pack
  • Use of incompatible parts or accessories
  • Failure to follow charging and storage instructions

If a battery appears swollen, leaking, unusually hot, smells strange, makes noise or appears damaged, stop using it immediately and contact us for advice. Do not charge or ship a battery that appears unsafe without speaking to us first.

You can learn more in our e-bike and e-scooter battery guide.

📦 Warranty Shipping Costs for UK Customers

For approved warranty claims within the UK, we will advise the most suitable solution. This may include sending replacement parts, arranging repair, asking you to bring the product to our workshop, or arranging return/collection where appropriate.

  • If the fault is confirmed as covered under warranty, we will normally cover reasonable return shipping, collection or replacement part shipping costs within the UK.
  • If the fault is not covered under warranty after inspection, the customer may be responsible for inspection, repair, return shipping or collection costs.
  • If no fault is found, or the issue is caused by misuse, accidental damage, water ingress, modification or wear and tear, charges may apply.

Please do not send products back without contacting us first. Unauthorised returns may be delayed, refused or become difficult to identify.

🌍 International Customers

For customers outside the UK, warranty support is usually provided via remote diagnostics and, where practical, replacement parts.

Due to the size, weight and shipping costs of electric bikes and electric scooters, it is often not practical to return complete products for international repair. In most cases, if a warranty claim is approved, we will send replacement parts where possible.

International customers may need to use a local technician if they cannot fit the replacement part themselves. Labour costs outside the UK are not normally covered unless agreed in writing before the repair.

Please consider this before purchasing from outside the UK.

🧰 Servicing, Maintenance and Safety Checks

Electric bikes and electric scooters are vehicles and require regular inspection, servicing and maintenance, like any other vehicle. The customer is responsible for checking and maintaining the product, including brakes, tyres, bolts, folding mechanisms, handlebars, wheels, lights, cables, chain, bearings, battery condition and tyre pressure.

Failure to inspect, service or maintain the product properly can cause damage, mechanical or electrical failure, reduced braking performance, tyre failure, loose components, loss of control, accident or injury. It may also affect warranty coverage.

Before each ride, customers should check that the product is safe to use. This includes checking that the brakes work correctly, tyres are properly inflated, wheels are secure, bolts are tight, the folding mechanism is locked, lights work, and there are no unusual noises, cracks, loose parts, visible damage or warning signs.

If anything feels loose, damaged, unusual or unsafe, the product should not be used until it has been inspected or repaired by a competent person.

We recommend regular servicing depending on usage, riding conditions and manufacturer guidance. Products used frequently, heavily, off-road, in wet conditions, or for long distances may require more frequent checks and maintenance.

If you need help with diagnostics, servicing or repair, please visit our repairs and servicing page.
