Your everyday bike should fit the journeys you actually make: the ride to work, a quick trip to the shops or meeting friends across town. The EPED Swift electric bike brings a distinctive moped-inspired design to those routines, with pedal assistance, a removable battery and useful security features built in.

Electric Scooters London is now an authorised regional EPED reseller, repair and maintenance centre. Our first stock is expected in early November 2026, and all four Swift versions are available to pre-order. Here is what to know before choosing yours.

Who is the EPED Swift for?

The Swift is worth considering if you want an electric bike for regular urban journeys and prefer a step-through frame with a substantial seat. The low frame makes getting on straightforward, while motorcycle-style suspension and integrated lighting are useful features for everyday travel.

Think about your route and where you will keep the bike. If charging beside your parking space is difficult, a removable battery can make ownership much easier. If you need to carry a bike upstairs or store it in a tight space, contact us to discuss dimensions, weight and suitability before ordering.

Could the Swift replace some of your car trips?

Rising pump prices make the cost of everyday car journeys harder to ignore. On 28 September 2026, the RAC reported an average UK diesel price of 199.18p per litre – almost £2.

Political tensions and disruption to global oil supplies add uncertainty to pump prices. Using less fuel can make your everyday travel budget less dependent on those changes.

The Swift is worth considering for commuting, shopping and short local journeys that you can comfortably make by bike. Replacing suitable car trips reduces the petrol or diesel you need to buy, while pedal assistance helps with the effort of the ride.

You will still need to budget for the bike, electricity and maintenance. Think about your return journey, road conditions, parking and what you need to carry when deciding which trips to switch.

How does its pedal assistance work?

The Swift uses a 250W continuous-rated rear hub motor to support your pedalling. You still turn the pedals; the assistance helps with the effort of the journey. Walk assist is also available when moving the bike at walking pace.

Electric assistance cuts off at 15.5 mph / 25 km/h. That is the assistance limit: you can continue pedalling beyond it using your own effort, subject to road conditions and applicable rules.

Is the EPED Swift road legal in the UK?

The UK Swift is a pedal-assisted electric bike configured to meet EAPC rules. Its pedals, 250W continuous motor rating and assistance cutoff are the key points for everyday use.

Under UK rules, riders aged 14 and over can use a compliant EAPC without a driving licence, vehicle registration, vehicle tax or compulsory motor insurance. It can be ridden where ordinary bicycles are allowed, including cycle paths, but not on pavements. Keep the bike in its compliant configuration and ride responsibly. We recommend a cycle helmet.

Charging and range: how will it fit your week?

The Swift's battery is removable and lockable, with its position beneath the seat keeping it neatly integrated into the bike. You can take the battery indoors to charge without moving the whole bike to a power socket.

Charging to 80% takes approximately two hours. This can be useful between journeys, although it is not the time for a complete charge.

Range is up to 60 miles, with the distance you achieve depending on your assistance level, rider weight, terrain, weather and riding conditions. For commuting, plan around the full return journey and leave a reserve for hills, colder weather or a detour.

Hydraulic brakes front and rear

Our incoming Swift batch has hydraulic disc brakes at both wheels. Hydraulic braking supports controlled stopping on everyday journeys, alongside the bike's suspension and upright riding layout.

Regular checks still matter. Tyres, brake pads and the chain need attention as the bike is used. Our authorised workshop can help you plan maintenance and assess any concerns before they become bigger problems.

Useful features for everyday ownership

A circular colour display presents speed and battery information. Integrated LED lighting and indicators help you stay visible and communicate your intentions to other road users.

The Swift also includes an alarm, key-operated immobiliser and tracking functionality. These add security features to your routine. Use a suitable physical lock and choose secure parking as well; contact us for the details of tracking setup before purchase.
